This is where you are probably emotionally drained from hard-ball negotiation, and finally “sign on the dotted line” agreeing to the terms of the purchase. You may also have provided the dealership a cash/credit-card deposit to secure the vehicle - which is a trick designed to gain emotional control over you. Because once they have control of your money, then they have control over you. (Their words, not mine)

In any event, this is a ruse. The process is not over. Not by a long shot. It’s only the front-line salesman who has “maybe” closed the deal. Now its time for you to visit the finance office, “just to do a credit application”. $$$
